Ars Technica: US public’s acceptance of scientific knowledge erratic


The takeaway from this is very simple: lots of people have opinions, but many of them are wrong. The fact that the ignorant and uninformed hold these opinions does not make the underlying facts less true, but it does pose a threat to those of us who actually want to make the world better. We can’t have serious conversations about the uncertainties of climate change if half of our country doesn’t believe in physics.
